Hello everyone ;D After a beautiful day in the sun, hanging round in the countryside and the dogs swimming in the river we met lovely Eileen and Jan to collect our new foster Dolly. I'm going to keep a diary here of her and her progress to her forever home. It's very, very early days here and we need to take things very slowly for her. Okay, so in the car on the journey home she came out of the corner and sat with her face in the wind, enjoying the smells!!!! That was lovely to see. When we got home, I couldn't coax her to follow me inside, I asked Tim to carry her in after trying and trying all things. I took the other two in, was about to go out to see how Tim was getting on and he was already through the front door!!!! She had allowed him to coax her in. We are suspecting she already has a little soft spot for him. When she got in, I asked the other two to settle in their bed's after a drink so she could have a mooch around without Bertie throwing himself at her, as he does with new friends. But, she ran as quickly as she could to the side of the bed and just sat facing the wall. We left her for a little bit to see if she would come out, but she wouldn't. She wouldn't look at us at first......but then she did and then Tim sat and massaged her neck. She started to relax a little. I discreetly took a picture. After a little of that, I clipped her lead to her collar and encouraged her to follow me, I settled her down in a free bed. She is a little relaxed She's a bit scared of the garden, so no wees out there yet. She's had a few grumbles at Sheebles and Bertie, but at least she feels confident enough to tell them to leave her alone just for now. We'll see how it goes. Feel free to pour advice on me ;D

;D fab news for Dolly - she couldn't be in better hands! I was there the first day she came in- she looked so frightened and sorry for herself - so glad she has found a soft spot for Tim - that may be the key to getting her used to 'normal' life I love the diary idea and look forward to the updates on Dolly - I'm sure she'll be happy as larry with you and yours while she waits for her forever home!! Awww poor Dolly bless her , but now she is in a home environment with you I am sure she will flourish, just like Daisy. Daisy is just the most loving dog I've ever met!!! Can you tell me where you got the blue bed Dolly is in please only I need a new bed and that colour matches my giant bed for my DDB ( can't buy a bed from them again it has closed down.) ;D

Oh, lovely Dolly! The pictures of her are exactly how Daisy was when she first came to us on foster - she literally stayed in her bed for 24 hours, she was that scared. But as Zoe said, she turned into the most loving little/big girl ever and craved cuddles and your affection - sure that Dolly will be exactly the same in your loving home Kat. xx

Dolly What a gentle beautiful girl you are. After everything that's happened I would expect you to be grouchy and irritable, but no..... You sit so calmly, even though I know you are petrified and let me clean your eyes and ears. To me that's testament to the lovely nature you have . It is such a privilege having her here. But so heartbreaking. Sometimes she lies with her one leg in the air as if she is feeding It's so terribly sad. I have never worked with such a traumatised little dog. I have to move her every couple of hours to help her circulation keep moving, I have just put her in a spot she seems to like.... Watching Tim cooking her a boiled egg. Her empty daytime bed, nice and comfortable. Picture of her from yesterday Picture of her today A little brighter I think ;D

Of course it was ;D She hasn't eaten it yet but I'll put it down for her tonight in her bedroom (our kitchen) and I know she'll eat it then. She's very private and only seems to eat, drink, toilet alone. Which is totally fine ;D

We got it from a lovely pet shop in Bishop's Castle, it's a small independent one. It's massive and was only £20 something. I'll see if I can find her online, otherwise I can pick one up for you next time I go, where do you live?

Daisy did exactly the same thing with her leg and we couldn't work out why she did it - that makes perfect sense Kat.
Hope she enjoys her boiled egg tonight and feels a little more braver again tomorrow.

I live in Sheffield katrina a bit far away from you. Dolly already looks a bit better than the first pictures and if she ends up like Daisy she will be the most loving dog ever
