We have been asked by a friend in the Midlands to help this one. The owner has died and a neighbour has given a home to the other dog but is unable to take the blind one.
We have an urgent pleas out for help with transport as the flat is being emptied today.
This chap will then need a foster place until we get him checked at the vets and then something longer term.

Poor boy. I hope people don't look over him because he is blind. "Disabled" dogs cope really well and like humans, it seems to heighten other senses. For instance my old Ellie girl (who is deaf but knows lots of signals) has a nose that can smell above and beyond that of a puppy ;D
What breed is the lovely fella? I imagine he must be ever so sad to lose his owner and his doggy pal xxx

I picked him up and he was a lovely boy(black cross lab,I think). He was no trouble all the way home and only got a bit grouchy towards the end.It was really sad to see that he lost everything and didnt have his sight either. How vulnerable he must be feeling at the mo.Wish I could have kept him xx

Here's a little Podge (my teddy that I knitted at primary school) for a big Podge (a real treasure from the look of him). So glad FOA RCT are able to help this poor old boy, who must be very confused.

Podge was an angel last night. Slept in the kitchen and not a sound. He has been to the vet this morning and is has no sight and his hearing is not 100%. He is very underweight and has a couple of infected pressure sores on his back legs. He is also very stiff in his joints and we will try hom on a little Metacam in a few days.
He so needs a foster place as my home is not at all suitable for him.

Podge is fine but my home is not the place for him. I am going to tyry him in a local foster home tomrrow and see how it goes. This lady has experience of blind dogs but also has a JRT who can be a little fiesty so as long asa she accepts him that should be fine.
