Both been neutered but we have started their vaccinations again. Benji will have to stay local for a whils because his ear will need some ongoing treatment. Shadow does need ongoing eye treatment but this could be managed at another vets if needed.
He is still very scrared but growes in confidence daily. He hates his eye drops but now waits for his treat afterwards.

More tears here too. Such a sad and moving thread. Eileen you are truly amazing. May their Mum rest in peace, knowing her babies are in very safe hands. Bless you all. x

Thank you all so much for your kind words but it has been a great privilege to do something for a lady who must have been suffering a lot of pain both physically and emotionally.
The boys continue to thrive and grow in confidence daily. Benji has been back to the vets for a check up. She thinks the toes on one of his back feet have been broken at some time so are twisted. This does mean that his nails do not wear down as they should but it does not seem to affect his mobility.
Shadows eye does not seam to be improving as I would like so he will be going back for a change of medication. Whilst Benji is fine here I would like Shadow to move to a foster home where he could have more one to one and more fun.

The boys continue to blossom. Jan has taken some news pics so will put them on soon. Benji is a character and will now let me rub his poorly ear so must be feeling much better. He loves his food and barks whilst he is waiting for me to get it ready. He is a delightful boy and I would not know he is here most of the time. He loves his bed in the kitchen which is where he spends most of his time.
Shadow has come on in the most brilliant way. It is a delight to see him running around off lead and he likes to run just for the joy of it.. When Sally his chasing her ball he runs after her but never attempts to pick the ball up. He likes to be by my side most of the time but is starting to feel more confident when in the house.
These are two wonderful dogs and I have loved watching them grow in confidence each day. Shadow still has some way to go but is a different dog to the one we found cowering behind a sofa and who urinated in fear.

Well we managed to get away and to see these boys so relaxed is amazing! Shadow has formed a bond with eileen and continued to shy away from me, even though I was with him for 4 days He is a very sensitive dog and has the most wonderful nature. He just wants to be close and needs to know whats going on every time you move. I am sure there's some Collie in there somewhere. He loves to run around the outskirts of the field, chasing Sally who is chasing her ball! Here are some pics of him sleeping (he is rather camera shy) He will need lots of patience and understanding but he is bright as a button and would be easily trained. Shadow, we luffs you! Benjy is a real character! He is sometimes confused as to who's food is for him, so when you are preparing something for yourself to eat, he barks and gets quite excited! He does love his food and a stroll around the garden. He is clean in the house and will go out in any weather, bless him. On the first night he finally settled on the sleeping bag.... Night 2 and here he is on the soft bed cushion... And on the final night he had discovered the bean bag! He managed to get the hang of it and slept there all night! He's such a lovely dog and gets on with everyone!

There is a good chance that Shadow may have a home. It will be so hard to let him go and hard on him to begin with but it will be for the best and he will be loved and cherished and get all the attention he craves.
