NICKIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII, forgot to tell you that Shayla has worked out the brain training game i brought her and she loves it lol I am even planning on getting her a couple more for xmas as she really does have so much fun playing with it. Lexi is another story though, bless her lol xxx
Brilliant!! think these are great as they are on several different levels and it's fascinating watching them figure things out.
Give Shayla a big hug from me - a small dog person whom she has converted!!
I have a really hard dog game if you pm your address I shall forward it to you. It is really hard invokes picking things up and droping it in a hole to receive food ;-D
Nicki i will gladly give her the hug...................im not surprised she has converted you as she has done it to almost every person who gets to know her lol even the ones who are scared witless by a Rott lmao xxx
Hi Tracey Just wanted to send a quick, gentle hug to Shayla ( and one for Lexi too - can't forget Lexi !) So Pleased to hear your beautiful girl is making steady progress. Lesley x
Thank you lesley x Shayla is really coming on well, doing loads more than she should but she is happy and that is whats important i will pass on the hugs to them both and tell them they are from their aunty Lesley xxx
Just to let you all know that we are releasing the beast this weekend ;D She has done almost 8 weeks in her cage and we feel it is time to let her have some freedom. We are putting things in place so that she cant jump around too much but she will still be able to move around the house freely. Steve is off tonight to buy a stair gate for our bedroom door so that she cant jump on or off the bed when she feels like it as it puts too much pressure on her joints, we will still allow her on our bed for her evening cuddles as usual but we will be lifting her off for the rest of her life. We are also going to buy her a new bed tonight as she chewed the other one into a mangled health hazzard lol, im sure your not surprised to hear that ;D lmao.
I have got an extremely busy weekend as i will be able to get my house back in order which means moving things back to where they should be, tidying and most importantly (for me anyway lol) a manic clean, cant wait ;D ;D ;D
That 8 weeks seems to have gone really quickly, although I expect it seems like an age to Shayla and her family. Glad to hear that she has come on so well and can leave her crate now.
You and Steve will have bad backs lifting "Little" Shayla off the bed everynight!!!!
Shayla saw the vet on tuesday night and he is extremely pleased with her ) He was pleased with the range of movement in her joints and quite surprised aswell!!! He is very pleased with her weight and said her coat is in fantastic condition. We were told to keep doing what we are doing for Shay as it obviously is the right thing for her even when we told him what we are giving her lol. For anyone who has a dog and is worried about their joints we are giving Shayla, synequin tablets, turmetric (1/4 teaspoon on food) Vit E, salmon oil, crushed egg shells, garlic and cod liver oil. It has made a huge improvement on her movement and we have noticed that her limping has really reduced. All these products are natural and a good preventative of the degradation of joints. Considering Shayla's prognosis wasnt good the vet is surprised and pleased at her progress as this wasnt expected. I would recommend all of the above especially for the larger and heavy set dogs. I am really proud of my girl and i am very happy mum tonight ;D
Shayla had her first hydrotherapy today Here are the links to them. The first one sshe was terrified as you can see but the second one was a much happier affair lol.
I've just watched the first film and poor baby Shayla!!!She looked totally baffled, I aint oohed and ahhed so much for ages. I felt really sorry for her, I think she kept looking for the release catch!! Your saying,'come on, theres a good girl' an I could see her thinking 'well I'm moving, but I aint getting any closer to you!'. I was so glad to see the second film where she was trotting away without a care in the world and worked out she could multi task by having a treat AND paddling!!
I dread to think how our Dally would cope with water therapy, if he gets splashed whilst I am washing up he suffers with flash backs for days and comes out wearing a water wing on each leg!!
We're so happy that things are getting better for Shayla, but after reading about tumeric, eggshells, garlic and salmon oil I won't ever volunteer to wash up in your house!! Your blender must be hell!!!
Give Shayla a hug from us all and I am so happy that you love her so much and are doing so much for her, I wish there was more of you about.
Maria you made me really laugh about Dally, i could just imagine lol.
Shayla has done amazingly well and we are so proud of her ;D We honestly would do anything for her as she is such a sweetheart. We really couldnt love her anymore but i think she hypnotised us through her photo as i was looking for a Shih tzu.....................definitely NOT a Rottweiler lmao, wouldnt change it for the world though xx
Really good pics though Trace I didn't think it would look like that. Awwwww bless her heart she looks so small and worried at first but definatly more relaxed after xx
Yesterday is history.Tomorrow a mystery. Today is a gift.Thats why its called the present
