Don't think he has met any cats yet..
Nothing really long term he just needs muscle bulit up and to keep a eye on them as he has two lauxtating pattellas but they don't pop out at all so long as the muscle is bulit up now they shouldn't cause problems.

Thanks Lou. Clare may be able to cat test him but I would imagine he would want to play with them.

The squillion dollar boy has been back to the vets this monring. He still has a lump on his gum and a hole where his tooth used to be so he is on another course of antibiotics and some Metacam.
He was not in the least bothered and was very excited at Candice vet making a fuss of him.

Today we have had some very worrying news about Maxasquillion.
A couple of weeks ago he had a swollen face and he went in to have a tooth removed. The vet was concerned because it came out very easily and the root did not seem right. The vet took some xrays but nothing much showed up. Max was put on antibiotics and we were asked to take him back in a week.
Last week I took him back and he was seen by Candice who was concerned that there was still a lump on the gum about the size of a mint imperial. He had another course of antibiotics and pain relief and was booked to go back again in a week.
Louise rang in the week to say that the lump had got bigger so I changed his booking today so that he could be admitted if need be and then Claire rang last night to say his face was again swollen and his mouth smelt.
Karen the senior vet has examined him this morning and thinks it is likely to be a malignant tumor. He has stayed in and they will take a biopsy and send it off marked urgent. I was shocked when I saw how the swelling had spread and the change in the tissue of his upper mouth. This type of thing is very rare for such a young dog and whatever it is is very aggressive.
I will pick him up later and we will have the results in about 5 to 7 days. Whilst always the optimist I am not hopeful and I think we should do everything we can to make this next week is as much fun as we can for our boy whilst we also make sure he is free of pain.
We are all in a state of shock and so upset at the injustice of this in such a young animal. Whilst we wait for the results I have moved Max's thread to Wonky Dogs.
