Some of you already know that we are currently going through the agony of losing our precious old lady, Megan, after 12 long years of faithful companionship to her humans and devoted care of countless dogs who have passed by, whether as permanent residents or temporary guests. She arrived with us in April 1999, primarily as a companion for our other elderly Cavalier, Louie. But she was immediately thrown into the demands of TLC and motivator when I found myself hospitalised for cancer surgery and chemotherapy. It worked – I recovered! Since then she has continued to be our most treasured darling – always independent of spirit, always calm and dignified in the face of troubled times, always giving selflessly of herself to those in need of guidance and reassurance. She was not the healthiest of dogs in recent years, as we discovered she was suffering from the genetic neurological disease which affects so many Cavaliers these days (syringomyelia) but with help from our lovely vet, advice and support from many forum friends and lots of TLC, she never gave up until 2 weeks ago, when she was suddenly overwhelmed by severe anaemia. Megan was not a rescue dog as such (though she had had 5 homes in 5 months when she came to us) but she has been my inspiration in recent years when I discovered FOA RCT and others. So, my darling Megan, we bid you farewell and a sweet good night, and will always hold you tight in our hearts, though we shall terribly miss………. Your puppyhood charms Your playful spirit Your loving companionship to our own dogs like Louie Your sharing of our interests Your soothing whispers to our guests Your favourite spot under the table Your winning ways and wise old face

My thoughts are with you Marie-Anne at this heart breaking time As I scrolled through your wonderful tribute to your Megan, my eyes filled with tears viewing your fantastic pictures of such a gorgeously pretty little Cavvie girlie. These, and all the images you have, together with her lifetime of accumulated memories will remain etched in your mind forever, as a lasting tribute to your special Megan Having just lost my JRT Badger last week, after 16 years of always being together, at this time especially, I share with you your sense of loss, your pain. your heartbreak, and that deep feeling of emptiness inside.
Megan was much loved, and must of had the best life possible with you as her Mum
GOD BLESS YOU MEGAN !! and if you meet my Badger on the other side of the bridge, please look after him and play with him in the sun lit fields of clover

Dear Wagtails
So sad to hear your news, you always send such lovely words to others in the same situation. Sadly there are no words to make you feel better, perhaps though just knowing there are so many people out there with you in their thoughts may help you through this time. Cherish your memories.

Just wanted to thank you all so very much for the lovely things you have said. It is such a comfort to know that others share and understand our feelings at such times. My precious girl is back home with us again now, in a beautiful casket with her name inscribed. She is sharing our lounge with us again, underneath her pictures and those of her pals who are also with her at the Bridge.
