Last year we had a few Westies from a PF who went on to loving homes. Eileen called one of them Ieuan after a little boy at school. He went to a local home in Pontyclun, with a lovely young couple, Kathryn and Andrew. They worked hard to teach him how to live life to the full and he had the best of everything. He was doted on and after some initial problems settling in, he went on to become a wonderful happy little boy. They called him Alfie. It was thought that Alfie was about 5 or 6 yrs old but it's very difficult to be sure. We can only go on what the PF tells us. Sadly Alfie developed something called 'Westie Lung' and was treated with steroids. This desease normally shows itself in much older dogs and so this shed a new light on exactly how old he was. The steroids helped for a while although he gained a lot of weight. Due to his weight gain, he damaged his leg and last Monday, was unable to get out of bed. The decision was made to pts and Alfie's owners are devastated. He was a handsom youthful looking boy with heaps of character. His huge personality won everyone over, and we will never forget him. Kath and Andrew only had him for a short while but all Alfie knew for this short time, was love, fun and affection. Have fun with all your friends at the bridge, Alfie.
