Today has been a deeply sad and reflective day for me[/b]
Exactly 1 year ago today my darling JRT Jenny went to the bridge
With tears of sadness and some of joy, I have relived today, the two and a half years that we were blessed to have and care for her
Thanks to Eileen's dedication and devotion, she was a FOA rescued Tan and White Parsons Jack Russell Terrier, found wandering in the mountains, almost at the point of starvation.
That first time we met, she was weak, frail and frightened in the back of Eileen's old van, and weighing just under 4 kilos. In no time she almost doubled her weight, and blossomed into a truly amazing companion, always by my side.
She was just the sweetest, most gentle natured dog I have ever encountered throughout my long life. She never expected anything, and was always so appreciative of everything you did, and gave her, so very typical of these poor harshly treated breeding bitches.
It was exactly 1 year ago that my Jenny had her massive stroke....it was at around 11 pm Tuesday night, 2nd March
My vet was called at 4 am and again at 8 am the following morning on 3rd March.
There was no hope of recovery for her, and nothing more he could do.....holding her soft, warm body in my arms, with kisses and cuddles from me and Chris my wife, the Vet helped her peacefully and oh so calmly across the bridge.
My daughter had rushed to be there, so she knew that she was in her own home , surrounded by her loving family, and with her "brother" Badger my other JRT sitting quietly watching, all together a touching and fitting final good bye from those that loved her, and those that she loved so dearly.
Her passing has left a whole in our lives big enough to drive a bus through
Sweet dreams our darling Jenny,[/b] who we nick named "piddly-diddly" for obvious reasons. It was truly our privilege to have adopted and cared for you, albeit for so short a time
We had so many, many more kisses and cuddles to give you
God Bless you[/b] and be good and wait near the bridge for your "brother" Badger.....unfortunately, I fear it will not be that long a wait!!
JENNY WAS ALWAYS BADGER'S PERFECT PILLOW !![/b]
Badger is now almost 16, and has really gone down hill fast since you left for the bridge. He is now deaf, almost totally blind with cataract, and suffering from dementia.Every day becomes more and more an effort for him, and the time is fast approaching when for HIS DIGNITY and WELL BEING, we will make that hardest of all decisions
