Geordie is not doing very well. Yesterday I managed to get him to eat some cat food but then later he stops eating again. I think this little man is telling me the time has come so he has an appointment on Monday when he will make his last journey.

I am so sad to hear about Geordie. I really am. He looked such a lovely little thing. I know his last days were happy as he was warm and cared for. Thinking of you Geordie. xxxx

Geordie has had a reprieve and is still with us. He was booked in for PTS on Monday but the snow came and it wasn't possible to get him there.
I took him back yesterday and we have decided to give him a little longer. He has had a steroid injection to try and stimulate his appetite and last night he did eat a little. This wonderful old gent is so frail and is just a bag of bones but is alert, is not in any obvious pain and at times is bright. Although he is not eating very much he has not lost any more weight since his last visit to the vet and his heart and lungs are good.
The vet and I agreed that he deserved another try even if it's not to be for long. Fingers crossed he will be with us still till the New Year.

Thanks so much Glenice. I think lots of get better thougts will do him the world of good. I so want him to have a bit longer. Although he sleeps most of the time he does come out of his bed for a cuddle and likes to cuddle inside my fleece. He has a nice thick woolly jumper to keep him cosy and the heating is on 24/7 to make sure he is warm enough.

Just caught up with this.I am so desperately sad for Geordie. He was so full of life when he was with Mary and was out walking every day and doing so well. So sad that his new owner was taken so ill and now Geordie. Breaks my heart. I just hope he has a little while longer to enjoy nice food and good care. xxx

Oh my ! Thats lovely that he is picking up a little. And I posted previously about his last days......I feel awful about that. I am really hoping that he chills out (in a warm way !) over Xmas and manages to eat a bit of that turkey ! Our little Yorkie Benji is 10 and he likes to sleep and is not that keen on his food but I have known some other even older Yorkies and they seem to be the same. For such small dogs they know how to take over your heart ! Love to you Geordie. xxxxxxx

It was with great sadness I took little Geordie on his last trip this morning. He was unwell most of the night and for the first time he seemed really ready to go.
He is now at the bridge , all well and mended again.
