Last Monday I had a call to ask for help for a Westie x whose owners had dumped him back on the owner of his mother. They were off to Cyprus for a month and the situation was dire for poor Chunky. He had not had a very good life, had no vaccinations and was in a pretty poor state.
Jane who has previously adopted from us agreed to get him to South Mimms and transport was then needed back to South Wales. We at last managed to sort it and he was due to be picked up at 11.30 on Saturday morning.
At 9am I had a call from Jane to say he had collapsed and it was suspected he had eaten poisen. She rushed him to her vets where he quickly deteriorated. The vet spoke to me and the prognosis was so poor and he was in such distress that we agreed to have him pts. It may have been poison or could have been parvo as Chunky had not been vaccinated.
I am so sorry we were not able to help Chunky have the kind of life he deserved. Bless you Chunky have fun with Cerys and all the others at the bridge.
