I heard a mewing when out walking my dog and tried to investigate but the area is a partial building site and couldn't find the source. Went back after taking dog home and managed to get in where I found little Mary, who has lived around here for 8 years, but I was just too late and she died before I could save her. She had obviously been in a fight and I found a puncture wound on her neck. Run free Mary, you did not know the comforts of a home and a warm lap, but we knew you were out there and fed you when the nights were cold. Mary will be buried in the woods she knew so well and formed part of her territory. I feel so sad that I couldn't do anything for you

These cases always get to me. Poor girl, i wish you could have know home comforts. I wish you could have been in someone's arms when you passed away. It's so true, that as human beings the greatest thing we can bestow is to lift a hand and stroke a head. I wish could have known what that felt like.
