Pepsi one of our oldie permanent foster dogs had to be PTS this morning. Pepsi and Ben have been with us for a long time and came in as a couple of real oldies.
Jan took her and her foster dad to the vet this morning after Pepsi became unwell. She will update later.
Bless you Pepsi, Ben and all of us will miss you.

Pepsi had been unwell since last Wednesday, but intermitently. Her fosterers Tina and Ray, didn't think it was that serious, as she was still eating and going for a walk. On Saturday she enjoyed a walk and then sat in the garden most of the day in the sunshine. Yesterday she had what seemed like a touch of collitis which she used to have every now and then. Then this morning she was a lot worse and couldn't get off the sofa. Ray picked her up and she couldn't use her back legs When our vet saw her she knew it was serious. She thought that she had suffered some sort of trauma internally and she was hemoraging quite badly. She had become incontinent and was really very weak. There was no feeling in her back legs and she failed to complain when examined (something she would normally do!) We made the decision there and then that it was far kinder to let her go to the bridge. She was almost 15 years young and had enjoyed almost 3 years with Tina and Ray and the grand children, who she loved. Run free Pepsi and be happy at the Bridge, sweet girl.

Pepsi and Ben came to us because their owner had died and they were going to be PTS. As we couldn't home them due to their age and a few health issues we looked for a local foster home and so they went to Tina and Ray. Pepsi had almost 3 extra years and Ben is still going stong I am delighted to say, although losing Pepsi will no doubt affect him.
I just wanted to say that without the support of all of you and our local volunteers we would not be able to help the oldies and poorly dogs like these two. So from Pepsi, thank you all.

Oh that is such a moving story. Well done to all involved in offering love and care to these little ones in their senior years and heartfelt sympathy on the loss of Pepsi. Run free with all our bridge babies, little one
