Gavin is a funny little chap, he had a little conversation with me today although I didn't understand a bark of it. His eyes are still dry and red, but I think I can see a slight improvement.

Sadly Gavin passed over to Rainbow Bridge just before Christmas. Gavin went to our vets for his routine haircut and clean up around his eyes in December because he was a difficult little man when it came to grooming and looking after his poorly eyes. He had been doing so well after having the surgery for his cherry eyes just a couple of months befere, but once under sedation, the vets found he was suffering from a severe abscess in his mouth, that had already caused extensive damage and a big hole in his gum, despite being on antibiotics, to such an extent that there was nothing the vets could do to help or save him, leaving us with no choice but to help our little man over to the bridge where he will be pain and suffering free. It came as a massive shock to us and it has taken all this time for me to be able to write this post. Gavin was with us on foster for just a year, after his owner was unable to care for him any longer, but he made such an imapct on our lives with his querky character and grumpy old man ways.
