Name: Lady
Age: 10 years
Breed: Terrier Cross
Can I live with Children: Older dog savvy children
Can I live with cats: No
Can I live with other dogs: Yes
Fostered In: RCT, South Wales
This sweet senior is Lady, the 10 year old terrier cross, who is being fostered in RCT, South Wales. Don’t let her age fool you - she is very active and very fit with great muscle tone. Lady now loves walks and is no longer scared of going outside on her own. She has no difficulty in gaining access to all furniture. Lady loves lap space and claims it at every opportunity! She is a happy, polite little girl – and also the gentlest dog you could imagine. She likes her food – treats and two meals a day. She snores (loudly!) and likes to cuddle up close when you are in bed.
Lady is a very loving dog who will make an exceptionally loyal friend. She adores being with her humans and absolutely thrives on love, fuss and comfort. At the moment she sleeps on the bed. She is a delight to be with and deserves a happy secure home.
When she first came in Lady had mammary tumours. These have been removed – the results were clear, showing no signs of anything nasty.
Lady is not in the slightest bit aggressive. She has no problem in the home. House training is a work in progress - as Lady has had such a lot of disruption in her life recently she is having some toileting issues – these are being worked on. She is responding well to her new home and toilet areas / routines. She walks beautifully on the lead.
Lady is fine with older children but would prefer a quiet home. She is great with adults of all ages. She can be a little shy with sudden hand movements and a bit fearful of raised voices but she loves to be around people and especially on their laps!
Lady is very good in the car and enjoys car rides. She is not at all stressed at the vets and is fine in the waiting room. She adores being touched, stroked and fussed. She is very affectionate and seeks out human contact. Lady has no dominant tendencies with her food and is not yet used to playing with toys. She shows no desire to jump or scale fences. She is such a gentle girl with no destructive tendencies at all.
Lady is currently fostered with 4 other dogs and loves being with the other dogs. She has been left for up to 5 hours with the other dogs for company and has been fine. She has not been crated. She is truly joyous upon your return even if you have been gone for only a short while.
Lady would benefit from being in a home where her humans are around a lot and have time to give her the love and attention that she craves. She is looking for a home with more than one human who is semi or fully retired. She will be very happy as an only dog as long as she has plenty of human company. She needs a lot of affection and physical contact and would love lots of walks too.
Lady is neutered, up to date with her flea and worming treatment, micro-chipped and has had her vaccinations. Prospective adopters will be expected to travel to meet her in her foster home in South Wales.
