Kelsey was taken from a holding pound at 12 weeks of age..she had been found in a soggy box at the edge of a river alongside another puppy...We got her to the vet who told us that she had a problem with her back legs, severe ear mites and bad worms. He asked us if we wanted to keep her as we would never be able to get insurance on her and boy of course we did.
This is how she started her life with us.
Kelseys first operation at 16 weeks old
She was terrified of water due to someone trying to drown her, yet here she is, it took her hours to venture into the water, from then we couldn't get her out.
she enjoyed her holidays and cuddles with us
But one day her legs were so bad she had to go through another operation last summer.
It worked to a degree but her other leg then gave up and another operation had to be carried out this summer, this would be her 6th
operation. but alas it didn't work. There was no way her other leg could hold out too, and then she started chewing her legs, no matter how much we kept on the cone and the creams she would find a way.
A decision was made, the right one to give her painkillers and let her have some nice days....so we planned Christmas which was a week last saterday and a trip to the beach.
This was her saying please take me home I have had a fun day but now I am very tired.
This was her rainbow on the walk back to the car
I can look now and smile and be thankful that she came into our lives. She gave us 3 and a half years of JOY Sleep tight baby

Bless . Lucky dog , lucky you . Wonderful memories and a wonderful life , despite suffering such horrible health problems Kelsey had a life of being loved, and that is all we can ever wish for for any of our pets - to leave us knowing they are loved. Take care . x
