My Beautiful Roxy had to be put to sleep yesterday morning. To say I'm devastated would be an understatement as she had been part of my life for over 9 years ever since she came to live with us. She was a rescue Staffy who we got from Northern Staffordshire Bull Terrier Rescue (Thank you Bob Whittall for placing her with us) and ever since that day in May 1999 when she decided that she wanted to live here, she did nothing but keep a smile on my face. When I was down, she allways managed to cheer me up. I worshipped her for her big heart and sweet gentle nature.
She was a comedian too and numerous times I found myself crying with laughter at her antics.
Yesterday I could see she wasn't well. So poorly infact that she wouldn't even move off the fireside rug. We decided to call the Vet as a matter of urgency. On arrival there the vet diagnosed lymphatic cancer and heart problems and that there was nothing he could do for her. A total shock to us all as she was her normal happy self on Sunday evening. We decided on the Vet's advice that the kindest thing to do would be to put her out of any pain that she might be feeling. A few moments later Roxy died in my arms and I broke down crying for the first and not the last time.
Roxy my darling, it was a privledge and an honour to have you share my life for the last nine years. I just hope that wherever you are playing at the Bridge now you will look down and bark at me every now and again. I won't be able to bring you a biscuit just yet but when we meet again I promise you that there will be lots more good things just for you. I'll never forget you. Mum and Tony miss you and love you so much.

Beautiful Roxy I will miss you so much. This beautiful girl belongs to my dearest and most loved friends, I have been so lucky to have known this lovely gentle staffy for over 9 years. Before meeting Roxy I had no experience with the breed and was unsure of them...Thanks to this gentle girl I have learnt so much about staffies, how gentle, fun-loving and faithful they are, how they don't like the rain but love any toy that squeaks, noisier the better ....Oh and the staffy snogs I have had from Roxy were to die for. Thank you my wonderful, dear friends ( who are more like family to me ) for letting me share your wonderful girl. I will never forget her. My love to Bill, Brenda and Tony...I'm so sorry and understand your pain.
Roxy, run and play happily at the Bridge with your brother Blackie ( My friend's first staffy ) and watch out for my 's to play with and show you around.
Here's my two favourite piccies of Roxy.
Showing how gentle she is...
Warming the bed for her dad...
Night Night sweetheart . from your Aunty Jean xxx
Another star in the night sky
