Hi. Fern has been with us since saturday and has really started to settle now, she loves her food but obviously hasnt got a clue what to do with treats, she sniffs them, pushes them round the floor but hasnt actually ate one yet, bless her. She now follows Jo in and out of the garden, and is happy for me to stroke her.. It poured with rain all day yesterday and she got soaked several times, she watched me towel dry jo and although a bit jumpy let me dry her off. She is very lead shy, in fact terrified, we are taking things slowly as i dont want her to go back 2 steps... she is a lovely girl, so funny... will post some new pics tomorrow.

Update. Fern has had her stitches out today and i was expecting a real struggle as she doesnt like to be picked up. We arrived 20 minutes early, with a pocket full of chicken bits, we had asked especially to see a female vet as fern is still very nervous of men.. i cant thank her enough (the vet) she sat on the floor and fed fern chicken, and really went out of her way to put fern at ease and before i knew it the stitches were out.. and not a peep from her. Fern has been out for the first time today, she was struggling to get out of her harness, so frightened. After what seemed like an age she relaxed a bit, and enjoyed her walk. lots of new things to sniff and look at.. still having accidents at night but clean all day. its only been a week so not expecting miracles.. Fern has discovered that the round thing we throw for her is to play with, and it is truly a joy to see.. getting more confident by the day. by she is still skitty re if you move suddenly, or she hears a noise. . That's great to hear Julie, she's doing so well, if you're a little concerned about her slipping her harness when out pop a collar on as well and put 2 leads on her, I do this with Bracken they are only light leads and it just gives that little bit extra security. Keep up the good work you're doing a fantastic job and you'll soon see more great results. Peg x

Sorry i havent updated for a while having awful problems with our computor. Fern. ( Daisy) is coming along quite well, her recall still isnt good although she does come back sometimes for a treat, she has only been off lead in a controlled area so far ( training lead) and i wouldnt want to chance this anywhere else at the moment. She is more confident by the day and loves nothing more than chasing a ball..Fern would best be suited with someone who has a youngish confident dog to guide her, a friend for her to play with.

Still having internet problems, sorry. Fern (aka Daisy) has really gained confidence over the last few weeks, maybe a little too much as she is getting a little possesive with her toys..we are working on this. she now goes to my hubby for a fuss, always on her terms though. but that is quite a breakthrough.. She would be best homed with a young active dog as she loves to play.. someone with eyes at the back of their head as she's into everything ( puppy like) and lots of love and patience.
