Rodney was booked for a home but it would have been as an only dog and Rodney loves other dogs. We have decided that Rodders needs another fun dog for company.
He is a 16 week old Bichon puppy with foot deformities. The decision has been made not to operate but Rodney will need a home where his feet receive regular attention. He will need to be reward trained so that he is happy to have his feet inspected, his nails cut and perhaps filed on a weekly basis. Because this is essential he must learn that this is a fun and happy experience. He will have to learn to wear boots when walking on rough ground as several of his pads and some toes are missing.
Apart from being wonderful bundles of fluff Bichons are high maintenance dogs and need to visit the groomers every 6-8 weeks to maintain their coat. They can be wilful little dogs so attendance at training classes is a must.
Rodney is a dream. He loves to play and have fun. He is vaccinated and neutered and now ready for a forever home where someone is home most of the time. He is trained to use paper but will also go outside.
ADOPTED AUGUST 2008
Rodney has gone off to a beautiful new home but he was more interested in playing with his new girlfriend
For all of you Rodney fans here's some pics with his new girlfriend
Update from his foster mum Jean
Jan, I have just spoken to Rodder's new mummy...Oh she sounds lovely and she's over the moon with OUR Rodders, just back from his first puppy class....she said he was quite nervous and kept his tail tucked under him...I said he may just be worried he's off on a long journey again to see the nasty man in the green jacket who stole his dangly bits He was fine when he got back home and started playing chase with his pal Maggy. I think once he gets the idea he aint going nowhere again he will settle, its still early days yet.
I promise when I go for lots of huggies off Rodders and Maggy I will take loads of piccies for you...hows that?? Not going for a few weeks yet, letting him settle and maybe forget me a bit.
I miss his smiley face, bet you do too. By the way, I think he got his good taste from my Gyppy dog.....she taught him all about the birds and bees and how to chat up a cute little Bishon lady and always to share his
