We saw some pics on a german shepherd rescue site of three puppies, 12 weeks old, that were needing homes, made contact about one of them and were told they had already been reserved, but there was another boy from the same litter who was still available. Aparently the whole litter was removed from a breeder. We had already had our home check done so it was all systems go. The lovely Eileen, who told us she usually deals with small dogs, was helping out another rescue looking for homes for these puppies, kindly drove halfway to meet us, (we live in Hertfordshire). Luckily for us our boy was the only one of the 4 puppies she had in the car that day that never had the squits lol. It was definitely love at first site, well sure was for me and my daughter, not too sure what Radar thought, then we set off to continue Radars long journey, bless him he travelled over 200 miles that day, but he just snuggled up with my daughter on the back seat. When we got him home our older dog, Buddy, refused to even look at him, think he was hoping he would just go away again, though they are now firm friends. This is our lovely boy the day after we got him he was a tad smelly so we needed to bath him for our sakes! He weighed 22lb when we got him and he is now 4 1/2 months old and a strapping 36lb. Radar and big bro Buddy We have been taking him to puppy training classes since we got him and he is doing fantastically well, so well in fact he has just been promoted from puppy class to the big boys class starting next week, he is very quick to learn and eager to please and will do anything for a treat! My goofy boy I just love this picture, shows him in his true colours as the goofy monster. He is a real mummys boy and is with me where ever I go like my little shadow. Many thanks Eileen and FOA for your assistance in helping us and our boy meet. Wilma x All grown up
