A couple of weeks ago Jan and I were approached by a lady in Essex who needed some help. She had heard about two, 6 year old Yorkies for sale on the internet. They were being sold by a byb and the selling point was they had good sized litters and were due in season soon. This lovely lady was horrified at where these girls could end up and asked us to buy them on her behalf as they were living in a garden shed not too far from us. Jan and I agreed and went along to an immaculate, pristine house with an equally immaculate woman. The two little dogs were in a dog bed terrified as they had probably never been in the house before. We did manage to hold our tongues as she told us what good mothers they are. We paid the £300 and left with the dogs. She did not ask us a single question. Jan did ask their names and she hesitated and then said Candy and Mandy It sounded like she made it up on the spot and they certainly never knew it. They stayed with us in Wales for a while whilst we got them spayed at their new owners expense and then I took them to Essex to their new mum. They are now leading a wonderful life and coming on really well. Mandy had severe dry eye with almost no tears whatsoever. Such very sore eyes.

Sad that this 'lady' who owned the dogs had no idea that she was doing something so awful. FOA RCT to the rescue yet again. ! The ability to be flexible, innovative and 'do something' to ensure that two dogs were removed from a situation putting them very much at risk; that's what it's all about ! How many Rescues could do what Eileen and Jan were able to do ? That's what makes this Rescue soooooo special !
