Can I live with cats: No
Can I live with other dogs: Yes, a must
Fostered In: South Wales
Sadie is a one-year old Bichon x Collie girl who is being fostered in RCT, South Wales. She is a delightful young lady who needs to continue her puppy training.
People – She adores them. Males, females – even vets! She loves children but needs to be watched if with young ones and not left alone with them as she suffers from normal puppy excitement. If in a calm situation, she will snuggle up with them happily. If a noisy, fun environment, she can get excited but the jumping up is decreasing due to her training.
Dogs – Totally sociable with all dogs now. She was a bit nervous of our other dogs when she arrived and hid on the windowsill but she has gradually got to know them and gets on well with all of them, knowing which ones to give space and which ones to play with.
Cats – No
In the home – Sadie has only been left alone since in foster for a few hours and always with the company of other dogs. She is happy to curl up and sleep in a comfy bed on her own. Sadie has adapted well to being in the home and is learning quickly what is acceptable or not. She is not worried by noisy household appliances etc.
Out and about – Sadie loves going out in the car. Sadie would benefit from puppy class training. She needs to improve her sit, stay, heel and recall. When she first arrived, she would constantly jump up but that training is going well and she is being rewarded for not jumping up. Her sit is good but sit and stay needs improving. Lead walking needs improvement and recall needs to be taught.
Type of home – Sadie is looking for an active family home with human adult company most of the day and night. Any children must be over 5 years old. She must be a member of the family and be involved in family life, outings etc, but does need continued training and lots of exercise. She must live with another dog to learn from and for company/playmate. Access to a dog-proof garden is a must. Absolutely no cats. Most importantly is Sadie’s need for cuddles. She lives for cuddles.
Sadie is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet her in her foster home in South Wales.
