Breed: Yorkshire Terrier
Can I live with Children: Older dog aware children

Fostered In: RCT, South Wales
Noel is a handsome, 5-year old Yorkshire Terrier who is being fostered in RCT, South Wales. He is a lovely fellow who is bewildered by the big old world. Noel needs to learn how to be a pet after spending most of his life on a puppy farm. Noel is a gentle soul who hasn’t got a destructive bone in him. He is baffled by humans and the home surroundings. He has no idea what toys are for and he is wary of absolutely everything but he will gain more confidence the more he is allowed to learn what it means to be a loved member of a family.
People – Noel likes to eat shut in a room on his own with no other dogs or humans around. He won’t take treats from your hands. Noel is very skittish and If you startle him he will hide. If he’s on the sofa he will allow you to stroke him but won’t make eye contact with you. If you stop though he does look at you to keep going. Noel is afraid of everyone so would need time to feel confident around you. He follows you around but the second you make eye contact with him he runs.
Dogs – Yes, Noel will need to be rehomed with a gentle resident dog
Cats – Not tested but unlikely to be an issue with cats.
In the home – Noel could be left providing he has another dog/dogs for company as he just sleeps quietly when you are out. Noel is afraid of most household noises so likes to spend his day sleeping on the sofa. He does like to potter in the garden and will come and see what you are doing when he thinks you aren’t looking.
Out and about – Noel is very timid and has no idea how to walk on a lead. It will take time before he is confident enough to go for a walk. He is very nervous so a secure garden is a must as if he gets frightened he could bolt.
Type of home – Noel could live with older gentle children who know to give him time and space and not to rush him. He’s not a fussy dog as he is still too frightened of humans to relax around them. Noel would like a quiet home with one or more gentle dogs for company who can show him that life as a pet isn’t scary and can actually be quite fun. He could not live with young children as he would be to scared but older sensible children who can understand what he’s been through would be ok.
Noel is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with his flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet him in his foster home in South Wales.
