Toto is a 7-month old Yorkshire Terrier who is being fostered in RCT, South Wales. Everyone that has met Toto adores him, he’s a beautiful bouncy little pup that loves to play, cuddle and eat. He’s a determined little soul and will jump amazingly high to get a toy, and will tell you exactly what he wants. He’s a clever little pup.
People – Toto is very sociable and loves to jump in your lap as soon as your bum hits the sofa. He loves being stroked while cuddled up on your lap too. Toto loves children. He does get over excited when they are running around, but just because he wants to play so any children in the home will need to be sensible, due to this and his small size.
Dogs – Toto is very sociable with all dogs, both inside and outside the home.
Cats – Toto will chase the cats if they run, but will back down if they stand their ground. He’s just playful, not aggressive, a typical puppy.
In the home – He needs ongoing reassurance and is wary of being picked up suddenly. He seems to assume he’s going to be punished when he has an accident. This has improved as he’s learned to trust his foster family but will need reaffirming in his new home. He’s fine to be left alone for short periods. He does cry when his foster mum goes out the door, but soon calms and settles wonderfully at night. He has not been left alone for any longer than an hour. He’s not keen on the mop, brush or vacuum cleaner.
Out and about – Toto walks really well in the lead and doesn’t pull much at all. If any bad habits do develop walking him in a harness would save the strain on this throat. He does enjoy his walks and will need regular exercise to let of steam.
Type of home – Being a puppy, Toto needs someone who’s home most of the day, and although he was obviously an only dog before he adores the company of other dogs and would benefit from another dog in the household. He can live with older sensible children and dog savvy cats. Toto would prefer a family environment with older children and perhaps another small dog for company. He is a lap dog he would prefer being with someone who has time to sit with him as he adore cuddles.
Toto is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with his flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet him in his foster home in South Wales.
