Name: Muffin
Age: 7 years
Breed: Shih Tzu
Can I live with Children:Yes older calmer children
Can I live with cats: Yes
Can I live with other dogs: Will only be rehomed with resident calm dog
Fostered In: Cardiff, South Wales
Muffin is a very quiet and timid ex-breeding Shih Tzu who is just learning what it is like to be a loved member of a family. She will only be rehomed with another dog. She has a wonderful nature and tries very hard to be a pet. She has captured the hearts of all who have met her. She gets on well with other dogs and cats but less bouncy ones would be better at this early stage
People – Muffin is very timid at the moment and new humans are a bit strange to her. As a puppy-farm breeder she has been deprived of human contact although her foster parents have done a wonderful job of breaking down the barriers. She is now very excited to see her mum and joins in for a fuss. Muffin doesn’t like to be startled so quieter, perhaps older children would be best.
Dogs – Muffin is happy to be around other dogs and at least one family dog of roughly the same age and size is a must to help her develop as a pet.
Cats – Muffin has no issue with cats.
In the home – Muffin can be left for short periods although this has only been tested with other dogs as company. Her housetraining is a work in progress and improvements are being made. Muffin is still unsure as to what a toy is for and she is only just starting to play. Although she is not destructive although, if soft chewy things are left within range she has shown signs of munching on them. Muffin is afraid of loud, unusual noises such as doors slamming, hairdryers and vacuum cleaners but this will improve with time. Muffin eats well and is not dominant over her food. Her garden will need to be secure as she is a little escape artist!
Out and about – Muffin new to walks is not quite sure what it is all about. She does enjoy being out and is learning fast.
Type of home – A quiet home with older children and a resident dog would be ideal for Muffin.
Muffin is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet her in her foster home in Cardiff, South Wales
