Name: Jessie
Age: 7 months
Breed: Staffordshire bull terrier
Can I live with Children:Yes
Can I live with cats: Dog savvy cats
Can I live with other dogs:Yes
Fostered In: RCT, South Wales
People – Jessie as a typical staff loves human interaction and being fussed even at the vets. She is great with adults and children and always excited to see her foster parents when they come home. She loves to go out for a walk and have a play and then when she’s tired she’ll cuddle up with you for the rest of the day. She has a wonderful temperament, she’s a very gentle girl.
Dogs – Jessie is brilliant with other dogs. She plays nicely and will share her toys with her foster brother but is protective over her food with him. She will let her foster mum take it however.
Cats – Jessie has been cat tested. She would be fine in a home with a dog savvy cat, but we feel if she was an only dog with a cat that had never lived with dogs she would chase.
In the home – Jessie is a lovely dog to have around the house however she does suffer from separation anxiety. When left for too long she gets bored and destructive. She hasn’t chewed furniture but will chew anything else that is available. She will need the time she is left very gradually built up when she moves to her new home. Toilet training is a work in progress.
Out and about – Jessie has had a 3 week intensive puppy training course at Royvon. She knows basic obedience and recall. She loves clicker training and is so food motivated she will do almost anything for treats. She needs high fencing in a secure garden as she can jump and has lots of energy. She travels well in the car.
Type of home – Jessie needs a home with time for a puppy and able to give her the exercise, mental stimulation and socialisation she needs. Another dog in the home would be beneficial to help with her energy levels. There will never be a dull moment with Jessie around and as long as she has the appropriate training she will be the most loving and loyal of companions.
Jessie is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet her in her foster home in RCT, South Wales.
