We adopted Martha from you 8 1/2 years ago and she turned 9 last month. We noticed recently that she had a limp and had twisted or strained one of her front legs whilst still zooming around flirting with the boys! We took her to the Vets last Friday and was in for X rays the following morning. The results confirmed our worst fears, she has osteosarcoma (aggressive bone cancer) and is now on Tramadol and special treats for the remaining time she has with us. We are all shocked at the recent turn of events as we lost our staffy/bulldog cross only four months ago aged 11 1/2. Martha is still wanting to go for walks etc. and interested in what is going on so we will let her enjoy herself as she likes going out and meeting everyone whether on two or four legs. I will keep you posted on how she is doing as no one can say for certain how far the cancer has spread. As long as she is pain free, eating, comfortable and has quality of life, we will do what we can for her to make life as bearable as possible.
