Name: Sandy Age: 11 weeks Breed: Lurcher Can I live with Children:Older children only Can I live with cats: Probably not Can I live with other dogs: Yes Fostered In: RCT, South Wales People – Sandy is very affectionate and loves snuggling into you to sleep. Because she is expected to grow tall and is quite bouncy she will only be rehomed with older children. Dogs – Sandy lives with an older dog and is walked with a variety of different dogs every day. She shares her toys and treats nicely with dogs and humans. Cats – Given Sandy's breeding we are being cautious and saying no cats as Sandy currently chases them! In the home – Sandy has been left for up to 2 hours in her crate and overnight with no problems. She likes to carry things around in her mouth and at the moment is easily distracted from chewing though this may change as she gets older! She does try and jump out of the garden so an enclosed garden with high fences is a must. House training is a work in progress. Out and about – Sandy walks calmly on a lead but pulls when she’s excited to meet people. She listens well and already knows sit, give paw and she comes when called. Continued training will be needed as she grows. She travels well in the car. Type of home – Sandy would thrive in a home with another dog to play with, she has a lot of energy and needs lots of exercise. A home with older children who can play their part in training her and also wearing her out! When she’s had enough exercise she will cwtch up and sleep. More socialisation will also be needed as she grows. Sandy is chipped, vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet her in her foster home in RCT, South Wales. Images at 4 weeks old - see more up to date posts for recent pictures
