Name: Tegan
Age: 2 years
Breed: King Charles Cavalier Spaniel
Can I live with Children:Older, sensible children
Can I live with cats: Definite no
Can I live with other dogs: Yes
Fostered In: RCT, South Wales
People – Tegan loves her people. She gets very attached and frets terribly when left on her own. She is happy to be touched and is always wants cuddles – in fact, she’s not sure of what to do with a dog bed and prefers laps and sofas!
Dogs – It has taken a little while for Tegan to get used to the dogs in her foster home and she is indifferent around them. She will bark at dogs she doesn’t know who enter her space but with careful introductions we believe she could live with a calm dog of a similar size in her new home.
Cats – Definitely not. Tegan has been cat tested and is very aggressive towards them.
In the home – Tegan is a very special girl who is quite a damaged soul. She does suffer from OCD in the form of shadow chasing but is currently not on any medication for this. She is being treated with exercise, one-to-one attention, distraction techniques etc. This will need to be continued in her new home and advice will be given.
Out and about – Tegan enjoys her walks but does pull on the lead sometimes. She is getting used to her new life, new routines etc and is beginning to realise that walks are a part of that routine. As part of her help to overcome her shadow chasing and anxieties a lot of exercise is a must in her new home.
Type of home – We are looking for a home where Tegan’s new family are home for most of the day. She has had a difficult life up until now and still bears the scars of that. She requires understanding and patience to help her overcome her separation issues and shadow chasing. She can live with a calm dog and can live with sensible children. No cats though!
Tegan is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet her in her foster home in RCT, South Wales!
