Name: Dylan
Age: 15 weeks
Breed: German Shepherd cross lurcher
Can I live with Children: Teens and up
Can I live with cats: Confident dog savvy cats
Can I live with other dogs: Will only be rehomed with other dogs
Fostered In: Crewe, Cheshire
Dylan is around 15 weeks old now and is a German Shepherd cross lurcher type puppy. He is a typical puppy and will need training in all areas. His new owners will have to be prepared to put in the work with him so he grows into a well socialised (large breed) adult.
People – Dylan loves humans and would prefer that they are around for most of the day so that they can train and socialise him. He is has a tendency to guard around his food so we recommend that any children in the house are teens and up. This is work in progress and seems to be less when he is in a multi dog home.
Dogs – He is a puppy that gets confidence from other dogs, so will need to have a friend or two at home, but also would benefit from a dog that will tell him off when he gets too much as currently he is quite full on with the resident dogs but listens when they tell him off.
Cats – He is currently living with a cat that thinks it’s a dog, so would be fine in a home with a dog savvy cat that will put him in his place when needed.
Out and about – Dylan first thing in the morning and on his first walk is full of beans, singing and eager to run and chase the other dogs, he does settle massively after this walk and is not vocal throughout the day. Dylan's lead training is still a work in progress, he will walk when with other dogs but is less confident on his own currently so potential adopters will need to work in this. He is good off lead and loves running through fields
Type of home –Dylan is looking for an active home where his people are around for most of the day. He needs time and patience invested in him with training and socialisation and a home who are prepared for the fact that he will grow into a big, strong lad as an adult. Dylan would benefit from regular training and puppy classes to teach him how to be a well-rounded dog as he grows. Another dog of similar energy levels would do him the world of good too as he can burn off some of that puppy energy.
Dylan is fully vaccinated, microchipped and up to date with his flea and worming treatment before going to his new home. He is too young to be neutered so this will be the responsibility of the adopter when he is six months old. Follow up checks will be done. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet Dylan in his foster home in Crewe, Cheshire.
