My little Shih-Tzu USED to like nothing better than fresh poo.. her own and her brothers.. with both dogs running around off lead, she would go frantic for her brothers 'hot meal'.. she'd run behind her brother waiting for the parcel to arrive!!! and if I shouted at her to 'leave' she would gulp it fast and run from me! It used to sicken me.. Yuk! Upon telling her vet, he just laughed and said it's only re-cycled PAL.. Loads of dogs do it, they don't know why. At about 2 yrs old, she stopped for a few months, I thought she had 'outgrown' her habit.. Then she did it occasionally.. She's 9 now and it's a rare occasion if she does it.

There is some thinking that feeding a little tinned pineapple in their dinner breaks down some enzymes and makes the "parcel" less appealing. This, of course can only work with your own dogs and in your own garden!

Hi J&T, Thankfully Kela's not done that for a while now.. It may be because the vet suggested adding bran to her food, which I always do now.. hopefully I won't need to go the pineapple route. I will remember your little tip though.. Thanks.
