Please say a very gentle hello to Agatha who recently came in to join the Wonky Dog Club. Agatha is an ex breeding Yorkshire Terrier who came to us with a number of health concerns. Our wonderful vet Karen Davies at Maesglas soon came up with a suspected diagnosis of hypothyroidism and blood tests have confirmed that this is causing her problems. She is starting on medication and tomorrow will move to one of our fab foster homes for plently of tlc. We are sure she will soon be feeling much happier.

We love to share our good news, happy ending type stories, with you as so often the rescue world can seem full of doom and gloom. Sometimes this is not possible although we will always try to glean some spark of positivity as much as we possibly can. Agatha is an ex-breeding Yorkshire Terrier who came in due to her owners ill health. She was soon diagnosed by our fantastic vet Karen Davies with hypothyroidism and started on meds. She came in to season so was unable to be spayed but sadly we discovered she had a couple of mammary tumors that needed to be removed. One was small and tests showed was benign. The second did not look too large until Karen started to remove it and then found it was deep and much larger that at first thought. Biopsy results have come back showing that it is one of the most aggressive cancers and there are signs that it has already started to spread. Aggie does not seem to be in pain and is being cared for by one of our amazing team of fosterers who love and cherish these animals as if they were their own. We know time is limited for Aggie, that if she had been spayed when younger this would never have happened but she is here and she is loved and she will end her days knowing only kindness, warmth and comfort. For now she will have our prayers and as much positive energy as we can offer her. The bad news is we got her too late but the good news is she will be showered with love and when the time comes she will leave for the bridge in the arms of someone who really cares.
