Coady has been to the vets...they think she has ruptured her cruciate ligament. She is going for Xrays on Friday, with the expectation of an op in the next few weeks. That makes two new hips and two new knees...definitely a bionic dog.

She is being her usual stoic self. I hope she copes as well with this op as she has with the others.

Thanks. We are going to pick her up at five. She has had her xrays and it seems that she has ruptured her cruciate so we will be talking next steps. The vet says he does a couple of knees a week so she should be able to be done in the next few days.

She is back home with a new knee. She is in her crate, gently moaning. It will be four months before she is allowed to run again.

Next step is to make sure we get her to take her tramadol. She is very good at holding them in her mouth and spitting them out later. Fortunately we are very experienced at this and not many escape us!!!

She is okay. She is sleeping a lot and basically just moving between her crate and a comfy bean bag. She is very good at telling us what she wants by standing and moaning until we move her bed into a patch of sunlight etc. She can go out in the garden on her lead for five mins at a time. We take her back to the vets on Tuesday for a check-up. She has some fluid build up but it is going down. Fortunately she is a very steady dog and seems to cope with these post-op periods very well. Dusty is being very good and leaving her alone, so there is no danger of her being bumped or banged. Thanks for asking about her.

Has been to the vet today. He is very happy with her. She is puttinga little weight on that leg and everything seems to be healing well. As of Friday she can start short on-lead walks for ten minutes three times a day. She has managed to sneak up the stairs once...it was fun getting her down again. Stair gate is now properly fastened every time! You have to love her.
