03/01/09 RESERVED PENDING A HOMECHECK This is my Collie x Samoyed foster boy. He slept through the night like a good boy and mixes well with all the other dogs which range from an 8 year old Dane to a 5 month old Sprollie type. He is inquisitive and a little angel ;D If I call 'Bilbo' he doesnt come but if I call 'Bilbo Baggins' he does. He is a funny little thing - I cant call him cute anymore though as he drinks wee and eats poo if he gets the opportunity. [image] Do any of the others do this? He would kill you for food. He puts his little head back and howls like a proper Samoyed when he is crated. Initially he just cries and whines but builds up to this crescendo and settles down. Last night it took twenty mins for him to be quiet and settle. Bilbo is doing very well with his training and likes to please ;D We have been working with a clicker using lures and freeshaping working on sit, down, heel position, loose lead, spin, twirl, watch and health checking. Bilbo enjoys his lessons because I hand feed him two of his meals as his rewards for requested behaviours. He is bright as a button. Have to mention that he does respond to Bilbo but more reliably to Baggins ;D

I'm so glad that I found your posting. I didn't see it before. I have sent in the pre-adoption application for Bilbo. He has several reasons (all terribly special and particular) why we think that it is fate that I found him online. I just hope that my application beat any others in earlier today. I found him originally on dogpages but could not access the forum as was a new member. So you have made my day seeing him on here. I have been calling all day and leaving messages and desperately trying to find a way to contact you. We are the Macnabs when you see our application and I promise you that it is fate that he should be ours FOREVER!! please get back to me as soon as you can. Hope you have great new year and that it works for Bilbo's new year to be with us!

Hi there
Katherine has sent a reply and is going to phone me today. Thank you for getting back to me, I was having so much trouble at first getting my replies to go through that I was sending out messages in every direction! Wish us luck. Hope to be seeing you.

Bilbo Baggins paid a visit to my house yesterday with his foster mummy and one of her own doglets the most handsome Mr Boris the Great Dane...was like having little and large trotting around. I have to say that little Bilbo was amazingly well behaved, he played with my little Lucy terrier, had a motherly ticking off from my big Gyppy dog for messing around and he did seem to take in what mamma Gyp told him [image] Bilbo was clean and went out into my garden for his loo breaks and a chase around the lawn and my sprout plants with Lucy, when back inside he even remembered the door to the garden and tried to open it when he next needed a widdle.....For such a young puplet he was very well behaved in a strange house he even ignored my Archie cat who was giving his best glowers [image] and he's a credit to Karen's ( crazydiamond ) care and training. He does a perfect "sit" and "down"......Whoever adopts this little pupster will be very lucky indeed and if they can carry on with Karen's training they will have a wonderfully behaved pal for life. Thank you Karen for bringing him round....I was desperate for a collie-sammi puplet cuddle Jean xx
