Hello FOA My name is Nicola but most importantly is my gorgeous pup Biscuit (JRT x whippet) & oldie chinchilla Chilli whose 16 years old! So Biscuit is a rescue pup who we brought home back in June this year from CDH he was aged as 4months old, a shy terrier. We spent days dragging him from our ankles and building his trust and now he's a bouncy energetic 10month old pup with bags of love to give. We would be lost without him. Previous to Biscuit was my beloved late Beckham(JRT x beagle) we lost him to a brain tumour in march this year at the age of 10. A huge whole was left in our hearts. I have seen many posts on here about the difficulty of finding foster homes for JRTs. If you are reading this all I can say is give them a chance, they are energetic but with time and love they can be the perfect dog. They are so intelligent and trainable go on open up your home to one, just hide your slippers Love Nicola

Hello Nicola and welcome to the forum Thank you for your post it made me smile here this morning as I sit with my JRT x at my feet. I don't know why people don't put there hands up to foster these bundles of fun, I wish more would then we could help more dogs.

He's lovely, I can hear you swooning Pat (jessiesmum) I'm also one of the JRT crew although mine is a x she doesn't realise and thinks she's a JRT through and through. We desperately need 2 foster homes for JRT's at the moment. Hollie is looking for foster home and we have offered to take another JRT that was due to be PTS. This one is based in Liverpool so we could do with a fosterer in that part of the country.

Bisc is a x JRT our vet thinks whippet..although he's more like a collie so hyper! We are in South Wales but both have full time jobs, We are lucky that our family adore him and his gramps (my dad) visits him in the day.
We are currently purchasing our own home, so maybe in the future we can foster as for now biscuit and chilli (chinchilla) are enough for us at the moment. It's a shame Friends do not have a kennel facility to use, I know home life is better for dogs but I find more people visit kennels. We had Bisc from Cardiff dog home both charities do a fantastic job.
