Name: Jimmy Age: 3 years Breed: Cavalier Can I live with Children: Yes older Can I live with cats: Not tested but don’t see an issue Can I live with other dogs: Will only be rehomed with another dog Fostered In: Launceton, Cornwall
Other Information:Please meet the beautiful Jimmy, who came into our care as an ex stud dog. He was very worried initially at being in a home environment and spent his first week doing his best to avoid everyone and everything. He has now moved to a lovely foster home where they can nurture him back learning how to be a family dog again and build up his confidence around humans. He is clean in the house so far and has really taken to the resident dogs, with this in mind he will need the company of a gentle existing dog in the home who will help him adjust to home life and help him learn about house training and lead walking. He spends most of his time lying in the open crate watching the world go by. He has been brave enough to go into the garden and even chased a ball for a while. We are looking for a very special home for this lad who understand his needs and will give him all the time in the world he will need to settle and adjust to living in a home. Jimmy is very overweight and will need to move into a home that can provide the proper diet and exercise so that he becomes the weight that he should be. Jimmy has been neutered, chipped and is vaccinated until December 2012.

Jimmy has come on in leaps and bounds over the past two days ;D he is making me so proud and very emotional he has been out for a little walk with myself the dogs and children and was hardly fazed at all he is doing well on a lead, house manners are impecible and for the past day has ditched his crate ;D he spends his time with my retriever boy who is so laid back he could fall asleep i woke up this morning to find them both asleep outside of my bedroom door He has also started to go into the garden voluntarily with the other dogs if the door is open and loves a gentle fuss from the kids as long as they approach him slowly and down on his level. There is still a long way to go with this heart breaker but he is adjusting brilliantly to how family life is. I have finally managed to weigh jimmy i ate my spinach and shredded wheat and went for it...... he weighed in at 16.7kgs!!! with a controlled diet and exercise i'm sure he will hit his first target of 12kgs with ease, poor jimmy does have an issue with eating as in he has eaten very little since he arrived but after some advice from pauline he has eaten some boiled rice and chicken although this had to be from a plate as he is very confused by a food bowl piccies of this brave lad enjoy

Well it can be done, Treen, so go for it!! I'm sure he'll master the art of sensible eating in your tender care.
He is SUCH a beautiful dark rich ruby red colour. I'm so looking forward to seeing a slim Jim one day - though he's probably quite large-boned, so may never be skinny!
W are following his progress with great interest. Give him a hug from his predecessor Hattie (and chums)

Jimmy continues to do well, he is loving his walks, cuddles and just seems to be loving being part of a family ;D He has been to the vets today to have his stitches removed and made no fuss at all he just lay back and let fred (the nurse) take them out, jimmy was also weighed while we were there and i am pleased to let you all know he has lost just under a kg me and my best mate i think i can do this..... nearly there....... i made it ;D
