It has been a while since we posted any news of Friends of the Animals rescue Westies Holly and Toby so here is a quick catch up. You all be pleased to know Both are still in good health. For those that don't know Holly and Toby came to us in September 2008 to share our home with our then existing old age Westie Hamish. Hamish very much enjoyed the company of Holly and toby for almost a year when unfortunately at the grand old age of 17 his age caught up with him. Holly and Toby were soon joined by another rescue Westie, Benny, from Manytears and so the duo became a trio again. After a few years Holly, Toby, and Benny's with their mums help mum started their own dog boarding business Canine Country Retreat (http://canine-country-retreat.co.uk/ also on Facebook www.facebook.com/CanineCountryRetreat)This business has now been going for 2 years and continues to go from strength to strength offering Dog Boarding and doggie day care in the Essex and Suffolk area. In addition to all this Holly Toby and Benny are now on a raw food diet. Following this diet has been extremely successful in managing, in particular, Hollys itchy skin and we now have a freezer full of nutriment raw food. For treats at some meal times the Westies get a raw Duck Neck, chicken neck or turkey heart each with their normal raw food. They also get the occasional raw chicken foot with is not only good from a nuticinal value but also good for cleaning their teeth. There are many pictures of Holly Toby and Benny on the Facebook page as well as many videos of the guest dogs.
