Name: Speckles (Sable) Age: 2 yrs Breed: Lurcher type Can I live with Children: Yes Can I live with cats: no Can I live with other dogs: YesOther Information:Speckles came to us in August as she had a broken leg and the family couldn’t afford the vets bills. The break was on the front leg and has now been mended, she is healing well and the calcium is growing and knitting it back together. Speckles is in plaster for the next couple of weeks. Sable is doing really well in her foster home with joy. She loves the other dogs, Hope and Jos and is now able to do all the normal things that 'unwonky' dogs do (albeit with her leg in plaster!) She has fun with the others and loves everyone and everything. Joy says she is clean in the house and sleeps all night She gallops everywhere at 100 mph and is managing fine! She is the sweetest, loving gentle dog you could wish to meet. Her coat is made of silk and her markings are gorgeous! She is so very good and Joy says she is wonderful with everybody and everything! Unfortunately she has not been neutered yet as she came to us in season, this is something that must be done, either before she is rehomed or by her new owners. She has been vaccinated and chipped.

Speckles was spayed last Friday, 30th and had her leg x-rayed. Phil is pleased with the progress but it needs to stay in plaster for another 2 weeks at least, poor baby She is coping really well and is managing fine on 3 good legs and one that weighs an absolute ton! Joy says she is a delight with children and other dogs and just has a huge personality and oozes character! Its lovely to see how well she's come on. She is no longer nervous and has put on some much needed weight. her coat feels like silky velvet and she has beautiful markings. She is going to make a wonderful family pet when she has her plaster off and she can finally find her forever home. ;D

The very beautiful Speckles has been back to see Phil the vet this monring and has had her plaster removed. She will need on lead exercise for about 3 weeks and then hopefully she will be fully mended.
She is a little reluctent to use her leg but that is understandable and this should soon improve.

Hi
Does anyone have any information about how Speckles would get on with cats? I'm very interested in adopting her as company for my Lurcher cross who I adopted a few years ago, and who came with a cat warning. Probably because my cat has always lived with dogs, they get on absolutely fine.
Thanks
Kath ;D ;D ;D

Speckles came to petwise for a Meet and Greet today. Now they have a cat that lives there and as he passed Speckles, she showed a lot of interest. She really was keen to get nearer. Now i don't know whether its manageable or if she can be trained not to chase, but i definitely think that given the chance today, she would have.

To be fair, Sadie will chase cats given the chance. She just doesn't chase my cat - I guess the fact that he will stand his ground and the odd swipe to the nose has trained her not to chase him!
I have filled in an adoption form but am still waiting to hear.....
Thanks for the info

Speckles is such a sweet girl and so funny! She is a bit of a cleptomaniac, I think! she loves to take things and hoard them in her bed. She slept well last night in her crate and I didn't hear a peep all night! She is quite nervous of loud noises and sudden movements but she is a very sensitive dog who loves to know where you are and what you're doing! She is coping well without her plaster and is weight bearing now, some of the time, when she forgets LOL. She does favour it occassionally but that is to be expected after 8 weeks in plaster. Oh did I tell you that she loves her home comforts - she takes up the whole of my settee but loves to put her head on your lap, so doesnt mind sharing!
