Congratulations Mace - your looking good! Your mummy and daddy look after you so well.
I love the last photo, looks like Una is saying "I saw this and thought of you - teehee!" and Mace is saying "I expect you think that's funny?",

February already, the time has flown by since our last update. Mace was a poorly chap with pancreatitis in August and had a stay in the vets. With plenty of TLC and rest he recovered well. He has slowed down on his walks but at 13 1/2 he is allowed to take it steady. Mace saw John in December for a check on his eyes. He is very good about being examined and John was pleased with the health of Mace's eyes. John and Mace are always happy to see each other. We had a week in the Lake District near Kendal in September and enjoyed some sunny walks. Christmas was very quiet and we had a few days near Ilfracombe. The weather was very windy but it was good to have a change of scenery. The dogs did some wonderful posing for the Christmas photo, assisted by Smudge the deaf cat. The results were brilliant as you can see. It was absolutely delicious and we would like to say a big thank you to her for thinking of us. Hopefully we will catch up at the summer dog show. With Easter only a few weeks away thoughts are already turning to the Easter costumes, watch this space.

Mace is a happy chap and loves his walks. His eyesight isn't too good now but John from the eye hospital keeps a check on him every six months. We are going next month for a check up along with Una. Mace enjoyed Easter by the seaside in North Devon and some walks round Arlington Court. The Easter bunny kindly left a dog friendly egg which they managed to share! Mace didn't join the sponsored walk on Sunday up Pen Y Fan. He has slowed down now he is nearly 14, instead he stayed at home and Karen kindly came round to let him out midday and give him his lunch time snack. Mace is a content old chap and Friends of the Animals summed him up perfectly in his initial description when they said he would be a loyal and true friend. He certainly is and everyone who meets him loves him. IMG_0688 by Mace the Magnificent, on Flickr IMG_3300 by Mace the Magnificent, on Flickr

It's my big day today the 5th gotcha. I think I'm about 14 now, but I'm still young at heart. I've had two new toys for my special day. The Mickey Mouse ball giggles and is full of plastic beads, not for long. Those two need to have the hoover on stand by for all the mess I will make when I've chewed Mickey's bottom, there will be beads everywhere! In May, Mace had his eyes checked by John. He has limited sight now but is a happy boy and enjoys pottering along on walks having a good sniff. We had a DNA test done earlier in the year to see if we could find out what breeds Mace is. He is known as the rare breed as he is certainly unique. It came back as corgi, German Shepherd, Jack Russell and Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Does that make him a Corman Russellshire? Can't imagine anyone else has one of those. Mace is celebrating his 6th gotcha. I think we left it a bit late in the day as he would rather snooze than have his photo taken.
Enough of the photos. I need my snooze.
