Well Duke is finally at his foster home after a 7hr journey to collect him. He isnt sure about Bisto yet (but he is very annoying 13mth old bouncy lab). He had a good sniff round the house and garden. (he doesnt go upstairs or on the furniture, unlike my little horror). He loves the kids and just wants a belly rub. He is not food/toy aggressive with us, however he has snarled at Bisto if he goes anywhere near, but Bisto needs to learn manners (jumping on my back whilst I was eating, would probably upset me too!!) We took them both for a walk round the lake this morning, he loves chasing a ball (and the odd duck) but his recall is good and he walks well on the lead. They both love swimming together and had a good run around. They ran round the garden and played quite well: (hope the video works!) Duke taking no chances that Bisto might steal his bone, fell asleep with it in his mouth: Will keep you all posted how he's doing. All i can say I have never know such a chilled out Spaniel, all he wants to do is relax and eat his bones.

found a springer site www.englishspringer.co.uk/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=3503 so have added Duke to their site, and told them all about this great site. He's having his first bath tonight, so will post some pictures with him looking and smelling lovely with his new collar. The longer he's here the harder its going to part with him, but I don't want to fail. Well if he is here still at Christmas may have to put a big red bow on him and get him for OH for xmas pressie!! (I will not fail, I will not fail, ohh god I'm spineless!!)

An update from Duke's fosterersWell I have been here at my foster home 5 days now and have settled in really well. The other dog I live with is quite annoying but I’m dealing with it quite well, I don’t like it when he steals my toys or bones so I tell him off. We go out for at least 2 walks a day and I love charging about with him, I love it when we go to the lake so I can have a swim and chase the ducks!!(even though I get told off for doing so). On Sunday I had roast beef with all the trimmings and some nice lady from FOA sent us some treats, so I really love it. The first couple of days I just sat in my bed and watched everyone, but now I’m on the sofa cuddled up with the kids (which I didn’t do when I first arrived, but learning bad habits off the other dog!!) My foster mummy says she can’t keep me because she has to help out other dogs and that this is just a holiday, and that I will be going to another lovely family that will love me and give me cuddles. I was playing in the garden today with my friend and got very muddy so I have just had a shower and a good brush. My foster mum says I am so well behaved, well trained and loving dog and would make a lovely pet for someone.
