As a home based rescue we can only do what we do with the support and help of our great team of Volunteer Fosterers. Could you help and offer either short or long term help to a homeless dog, cat, rabbit or small furry? We are especially keen to recruit additional fosterers who are able to foster large breed dogs, sight hounds and bull breeds. In addition we need more foster places for abandoned cats and kittens and rabbits. If you feel you would like to help, please fill out the online form (link below)and one of the team will contact you. docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dGRCbTExZGx5RnNQcjlONXVPV0ZKRGc6MQ

Sorry Elaine for not replying sooner . Have fostered for FOA since 2010 and have had lots of dogs on foster (mainly smaller ones ) At the moment we have Winnie (one eyed cocker ) who is delightful ,it has taken her quite some time to come round and is now walking on a lead ,as an xbreeding dog she had no clue to family / home life and it's always a joy to see them making huge progress from when they first arrive . We also have Chewie (Yorkie ) who is 21yrs old ! Very sadly we are going to have to make the decision soon to have him PTS He had an anal tumour and although up until recently has had good quality of life eating ,drinking , getting about his eyesight is now failing and he is going off his back legs .I am so very sad at having to make this decision (FOA are aware of) you see he has a strong spirit and is still eating and drinking and barking in the night to be let out .Feels like I am letting him down bit at the same time I know I have to do the right thing by him ...was hoping he would pass in his sleep . Sorry turned into a bit of a morose post just so sad Hope all goes well and your fostering for FOA begins soon we are a good bunch ready to offer an ear and socialise both on the net and at. Annual events x

Thanks Rachel he is still here not in pain and he's having a last weekend with me if all goes well. The vet said he should see him on Tuesday if he's not bad over the weekend. He is sleeping nicely today . I have contacted Pauline 're: Sam and she is fine until then. I've not changed my mind about fostering any pets I can help ok . Thanks xx Elaine

Hi everyone My name is Claire, I put a form in yesterday to foster. I've had 6 rescue staffie over the years and love their company. My boy Sox went into the vets yesterday for X-rays and a dye treatment-to try and diagnose his poorly working back legs, the vet phoned to say he'd found a mass pushing against his spine (I was asked what I wanted him to do-obviously remove it) the vet phoned me an hour later to say he'd removed most of it, but sadly it was in his spine. I'm so so upset, he was my baby, but I had to make the right decision for him, which was to put to sleep whilst under anasetic. I don't think I will ever get over losing him, he came from the pound and had a terrible life before coming to me at age 5. But I spent a fabulous 4 years with him I am lost with out a friend-no one to talk to no one to walk with, no cuddles and kisses Sorry everyone I was just going to write that I had put a foster application in-but I got carried away. Claire 35
