We are heartbroken for you Liz and Claud and your family. It means so much to us knowing she was loved totally and lavished with tenderness in her last months. Every photo and update is a memoir to cherish. She was a sweet little girl with heaps of character and she will be missed dearly. Hugs to you, Claud and your fur babies and much love. RIP Ivy, have fun at the bridge sweetheart. Xx

This is a copy of the post we have put on our Facebook page where many people followed Ivy's progress.
Last August we were running a stall at an event in Cardiff and were placed next to the fab team from Cardiff Dogs Home. They told us about an ancient little Shih Tzu that had been handed in after her owner died and how they wanted to get her in to a home. Ivy sounded just like our kind of dog and so she came to join the Wonky Dog Club. We knew straight away Ivy was a very special girl and like so many of the oldies that come to us we wondered what she had been like in her younger days. Ivy must have been a force to be reckoned with that's for sure. We loved her and she soon started to thrive. Then the most fantastic thing happened. Someone came along who could see past any problems and see past Ivy's age and like us could see a little old lady who still had so much to give. Ivy left us to go to the most fantastic home where she thrived. We were kept up to date with regular reports on her latest antics and pictures that were testament to what a loved dog she was. In April Ivy became ill and the worst thing was it was a pyometra, a hateful womb infection that can be prevented if a bitch is spayed. Ivy was put on medication with the plan she would have to be spayed as soon as it was safe. Although she picked up she had lost a lot of weight and the infection had messed up her water works. She never got quite well enough to have the surgery and yesterday Ivy left for Rainbow Bridge. We are heartbroken at the loss of this amazing dog and we can know how devastated Ivy's wonderful family are feeling. We loved her but she was their girl and she was a huge part of their lives. RIP Ivy everyone who met you were smitten and go sort them out over the bridge

Had a lil tear when saw it on fb. Life is so quite without her . Now more howling matches with Maggie after her dinner and no more heat seeking lap sitting.
For our wedding we are donating the favour money as a donation to wonky towers. To help all the other lil wonky ones and want to become a patron of such a good cause.
Think from all of this how sad it is the hurt that's cause us. The neutering and spaying of your animals is very important ivy could have had a different outcome once it goes wrong there is not much vets can do. So if anyone out there is having second thoughts about the benefits pls seek advise from a vet. I hope Ivy's story highlights how important this is. U may be saving money now but you will not if your animal gets ill there is charities that will help with this as well.
My lil ivy we miss u

Oh Liz I am so sorry for you - I know how upset you will be feeling as your whole life revolves around your family of lovely dogs. Having said that YOU HAVE GIVEN IVY THE BEST YEAR EVER and I know she will be there with her former owner looking down and waiting till they can meet up with you again for hugs and thank yous.
Thank you from me personally for the dedication and love you have given not only Ivy but little Maggie Mae too as well as the handsome Henry and a big hug from me, Josh and Isabella xxxx
