I had no choice but to rehome my Kerry beagle, Rommel with you about 3 years ago. Despite contacting you a few times to follow up on his progress I have not had any reassurances. The only info I have is that he was fostered for a few months and then went to a permanent home. Not all people who have to give up their dogs are irresponsible and I feel that if the huge step has to be taken it is essential to know that the dog in question has been appropriately rehomed and some sort of communication should be encouraged in order to make sure that the dog's future needs are met. In Rommel's case, there were a few inaccuracies in his description on this website that may have taken his new owners by surprise when they came to light, resulting in him being rehomed yet again. Any information will be gratefully received.

I do remember Rommel although I don't think he ever came down to us here in the Rhondda but went in to a foster home. I am sorry you feel we have let you down. As a rescue we always try to give whatever help and support we can to previous owners and I am sorry that we have not met your expectation. Our main focus is always the dogs and cats that come in and as we are all volunteers and many of us have full time work commitments this means we are always stretched and playing catch up. We are always there for the adopters of our animals and on many, many occasions we help when circumstances mean that they are not able to fulfill their duty of care. This may be due to unforeseen health issues or accidents when an adopter is unable to pay for treatment. We will always help and in some cases this has involved us in raising thousands of pounds. We also have with behaviour issues and will if needed arranged for dogs to be seen by behavioural specialists. If Rommels adopters had needed help with him we are here and to date we have not received any requests from them. I will make some enquiries about him and check our database for his adoption details and any follows ups that are recorded. I will get back to you when I have anything to share and again please accept my apologies.

Hi That is reassuring. It will be nice to know that he hasn't been moved on again and again and that he is settled. Best wishes GB
