Breed: Bichon Frise
Can I live with Children: No
Can I live with cats: Yes
Can I live with other dogs: Yes
Fostered In: Cardiff, South Wales
Krissie is a 6-year old Bichon Frise who is being fostered in South Wales. She is a quiet, loveable little soul who has had a rotten start in life.
People – Krissie is still very frightened of people even when she has met them and takes time to relax. She is very frightened of children. At the moment she tolerates women more than men. She doesn't like to be picked up but likes to lay next to you on the sofa and likes her tummy rubbed. Which ever area you touch on her she just freezes. She does, however, jump up with a wagging tail when her foster mum comes home and has started to give little kisses as she copies the other dogs. She likes to lay next to her humans on the sofa and have her belly rubbed.
Dogs – Krissie needs a doggy brother or sister who will help her to adjust to pet life.
Cats – Krissie is indifferent to cats.
In the home – Krissie is fine to be left alone with the other dogs for short periods of time the most is 4 hours. She is very excited and happy to see you when you return. She doesn’t know anything about toys has no interest. She has had a little growl if the others come by her food but would happily eat all of the food herself. She doesn’t like doors or draws being closed loudly or sudden noises around the home. House training is a work in progress. Krissie has learned how to pinch treats from the cupboard that has the dog food in! She also likes to watch dog programmes and barks at the TV screen.
Out and about – Krissie is happy to put her harness on still a bit unsure of putting on her lead but is ok once it is on. She likes to explore and smell things in the park but then walks at the side of her foster mum when in the street. She doesn't pull on the lead.
Type of home – A quieter house with another dog a must, where her people are around for most of the day. Krissie won’t need a very active household as she walks slowly and like to go at her own pace. She would definitely suit an older couple that are not too active. That said, given the chance she could run with the wind when she gets scared!
Krissie is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet her in her foster home in South Wales.
