Name: Dave

Breed: Jack Russell Terrier
Can I live with Children: Yes
Can I live with cats: No
Can I live with other dogs: Yes
Fostered In: South Wales
Dave is a 2-year old Jack Russell Terrier who is being fostered in RCT, South Wales. He is a real character. He is busy and clever and has loads of energy. Dave loves to play with other dogs. He loves water and will get in a river or pond he also loves getting muddy! He is a bundle of energy who is loved by everyone he meets. Dave needs some work on his etiquette and interpersonal skills.
People – Dave loves all humans, big or small. He sees them as useful things to entertain him. He is great with kids but toys left lying around will be stolen.
Dogs – He loves other dogs but he tends to not be able to read other dogs signals to back off when they have had enough play or if they don't want to play
Cats – Dave can't live with cats.
In the home – Dave is great in the home as it is one huge activity centre for him to explore. He can be left alone but best crated because he gets bored and then finds trouble to get in to. He is not deliberately destructive as in chewing things but likes to get up on tables and worktops and pushes things off. He can play tug nicely but sometimes he can guard a toy. Dave needs to be fed away from other dogs as he will eat their food. Dave is fearless and not afraid of anything!
Out and about – Dave loves being out and about and walks fine on the lead although not yet to heel.
Type of home – We think Dave needs an owner who loves being out and about. He would be better behaved as an only dog because he seems to manage to get other dogs to get in to trouble with him rather than adopting the resident dog’s good behaviour. As long as he has plenty of human interaction. Dave is fine with children but he will chew their toys if given the chance. He needs lots and lots of walks and interaction. He would make a good agility dog because he works things out very quickly. An ideal companion dog for someone who can take a dog to work with them as he would love riding shotgun in a van with someone! No cats!!
Dave is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with his flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet him in his foster home in Rhondda, South Wales.
