Name: Amber
Age: 2 years
Breed: JRT X. Tan and White
Can I live with Children: Older children only
Can I live with cats: No
Can I live with other dogs: Yes but would be better as an only dog
Fostered In: Cheltenham[/color]
Amber is a total cuddle monster and would make a great companion dog. She loves to be with her human as much as she can and curls up on your lap like a cat. Amber’s idea of heaven! She would prefer that nothing else existed except her humans and her. Amber is a typical terrier so she will rag toys and cushions. You have to earn Amber’s trust. She can be nervous at first which is understandable considering her past.
People – Amber loves to follow her human around and prefers to have them in sight whenever possible. She can fret when parted although she does settle down after a while. Amber has never been left on her own. She can be nervous when she first meets people but soon trusts.
Dogs – As a terrier, Amber can be annoying to calm older dogs. She loves to play in a “terrier” way which usually involves barking at other dogs. Amber shines when she has her human to herself.
Cats – No cats for Amber
In the home – Amber is not keen on loud noises and the vacuum cleaner frightens her. She is not a fence jumper, rather an escape artist so if there is a little weakness in a fence, she will find it. As a youngster Amber needs attention and guidance
Out and about – Amber needs some training on her lead. She will try to slip her collar so a harness is advisable at this stage. She can pull. Amber suffers from car sickness.
Type of home – Amber needs a home where she is the centre of attention and gets lots of love from her humans. She deserves to have lots of time spent on her. Amber would be a great companion for someone older, or for a family with older children. She is a loving little girl who would be great for most homes. She would be best as an only dog as she can be bossy, but would be ok with a laid back one who would ignore her.
Amber is spayed, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet her in her foster home in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.
