Name: Crystal
Age: 9 years
Breed: Gold & White Shih Tzu Bitch
Can I live with Children:No young excitable children
Can I live with cats: Not tested
Can I live with other dogs: Yes only with another small dog
Fostered In: South Wales, RCT
Our little Crystal has had a rough life. That said, it is amazing how well she has adapted to becoming a pet. Crystal is an intelligent little soul who is keen to learn and take in the wonderful world that has been denied her up to now. As you would expect, Crystal is initially wary of new people especially men but, if left to come around in her own time soon learns to trust and you have a friend for life. She is a gentle and loving sweetheart who will make someone a wonderful companion and a much loved pet.
People – New people, especially men, can make Crystal a little nervous. Her response is to freeze but, if left to come round in her own time, soon comes over for tickles and cuddles. Small excitable children will be a real challenge for Crystal so older, quieter children only please.
Dogs – Crystal is great around other dogs, especially bitches that are the same size as her and are not too fussy. As she has only lived with other dogs, she will only be rehomed in a home with a dog
Cats – Not tested, but ex breeding dogs are usually OK with cats
In the home – Crystal is happy to be left alone for short periods and is happy to sleep in her crate although she has always been in the company of other dogs. Crystal is a little sleepyhead but, when awake, can be seen taking all the new sights in. She is not aggressive or destructive at all and is not dominant over her toys. Crystal is a gentle eater and usually needs to toilet right after food. Although she is pretty much house trained, care will need to be taken after meals.
Out and about – Crystal is new to walks and is learning fast. She responds well to verbal encouragement
Type of home – Crystal would suit a relatively quiet home with plenty of snooze spots and plenty of attention. Another older female Shih Tzu would be ideal but not required.
Crystal is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet her in her foster home in South Wales, RCT
