Name: Bethan
Age: 9 months
Breed: black and tan big tripawd crossbreed
Can I live with Children: Yes
Can I live with cats: Yes
Can I live with other dogs: Yes
Fostered In: Pontypridd, South Wales
Bethan is a tripawd not currently on any medication. She was found on the streets of Turkey with an awful injury to her front leg. The vets there amputated her leg then she travelled to Wales to finish her vet treatment and find a home.
People – Bethan loves people and likes nothing more than to be cuddled. She is in foster with children aged 8 to 17 years and has been fine. She would be fine with smaller children if she was an only dog or with a calm dog, she’s a bit boisterous when playing with the other biggish puppy in her foster home.
Dogs – Bethan is good with all dogs, big and small. She hasn’t really played with toys, she loves to play with the other dogs. She can be a bit grumpy with other dogs while eating if they get too close to her. New owners would need to be careful of this as she is currently being fed at the other end of the kitchen to the other dogs in the house. She has no food guarding issues with adults or children.
Cats – Bethan has been in foster previously with a cat in Turkey.
In the home – Bethan is an all round good puppy. She has been left in the kitchen for short periods with and without other dogs with no issues. She will start to chew furniture if she’s not watched but if she’s caught straight away she stops. Housetraining is just about there as long as she is put outs
Out and about – Bethan can walk on a lead but does find it difficult so only needs short walks. She is now walking for 20 minutes on a lead. She currently has no recall as she was a street dog in Turkey-owners should be wary of letting her off-lead until they are 100% sure they can catch her! This will improve as she settles and has regular training. She is fine in the car but needs to be behind a dog guard or in a crate as she can jump the seats to be beside you. She is fine at the vets.
Type of home – Bethan would like a home where there is a large garden that she can run around and play in preferably with another dog. She can walk on a lead but only for short distances so would rather play as and when she wants. She could live with or without children but she does love attention from as many people as possible!
Bethan is a lovely affectionate girl who is a joy to have in the house. She enjoys play and doesn’t let the loss of a limb hinder her enjoyment of life. New owners will need to keep an eye on her weight so as not to put extra pressure on her other legs.
Bethan is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with his flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet Bethan in her foster home in Pontypridd, South Wales.
