Name: George Gently
Age: 2 years
Breed: Chihuahua
Can I live with Children:Older children only
Can I live with cats: Not tested but seems indifferent
Can I live with other dogs: Yes, although I can be jealous with my humans
Fostered In: RCT
Gorgeous George is a 2-year old Chihuahua being fostered in RCT, South Wales. He is a complex little man. On one hand he is the most loving, happy and playful little dog but trust has to be earned. He needs to be introduced to new people on his terms which means the first approach has to be his. You see, as a little fella, he has had huge hands shoved in his face and he doesn’t like it. Once you know the rules everything is fine and he is an absolute treasure.
People – George loves people who treat him with respect. Once he has introduced himself he makes friends very quickly and, once he trusts you, he will play, cuddle and kiss like the little pup he is.
Dogs – George is happy to be around other dogs as long as they don’t stand on him or otherwise annoy him. He has improved immensely in this area and we have had no issues for a while. He will growl at another dog if it comes near his food while he is eating.
Cats – Although he has not lived with a cat he has passed them in the street and seems to ignore them.
In the home – George is happy to be left alone although he prefers the company of humans. George is not a barker and he is not a big toy fanatic but he will have his nutty time when he flies around the room like a beige bullet. He is happiest sat on a lap being tickled or out on a walk. George is housetrained and sleeps on the bed with the other family dogs. He is a slow eater showing no desire to steal food off the others.
Out and about – George loves to be out and about and trots down the street like a little prince. Care should be taken, however, as being a handsome little man people are inclined to bend down and try and pat him with predictable results. First move must always be his.
Type of home – George would be happiest in an active home with plenty of walks and laps to sit on. Another dog is a must, preferably a young playful one who he can bond with. Older children who understand George would be great but no little ones.
George is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with his flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet him in his foster home in Rhondda, South Wales
