It was on Christmas Eve 2011 that you quietly entered our lives as our long term foster. When we awoke on Christmas Day 2016 our hearts were broken to discover you had quietly slipped away and made your journey to Rainbow Bridge. I have wanted to honour you so many times Sweet but my broken heart could never find the words I wanted to say.
Instead I have found this poem that I feel you guided me too and is so very true of the fostering journey:
A Pet's Peace by Tracy M. Johnson
I have left you now, but please don't be sad, you gave me all the love you had. You did so much for me in my time here and i'll always hold those precious times near. I know someday you'll find love again and into your life will come a new friend. Your heart will heal, though you'll never forget memories like the first time we met. Memories are wonderful, so keep them close and remember all the good times the most. Up in the Heaven for animals is where i'll be and someday in the future, each other we'll see. I am at PEACE now, so please don't be sad You gave me all the love you had.
When we lose a much loved member of our family, we always buy and plant a rose in the garden as a living memorial. "My beautiful Sweet, your red rose bush is planted and we will carry you forever in our hearts."
