You’ve heard of Hinge and Bracket – well, here are Judy and Emma. They are being fostered just outside of Cardiff, in South Wales, but are looking for very special, long term foster home where they can spend the rest of their days. That means, we will not be asking for an adoption donation and will be covering all of their health costs for whatever time they have left.
Judy is the bossier of the two and her and Emma have to rehomed together. Morecambe without Wise, The Two Ronnies – it isn’t right to split them up. Because their sight is failing and their hearing isn’t as good as it used to be they need a quiet, gentle home. Older children, or visiting grandchildren, would make their day because they do love a fuss and are very gentle.
They are friendly, lovable girls and despite their deafness can hear the biscuits being unwrapped from the next room!
They both like to be stroked although Emma is bit nervous and will duck her head when you stroke her. Their favourite place to be is in the kitchen – especially if you are cooking. They are both very placid dogs but Judy has been known to bark if you are in the kitchen making delicious food smells and she can’t get in.
They both have some health problems –deafness, cataracts, Judy also has an ulcer on her right eye, Emma has a lump on her shoulder. Both dogs have some problems with their back legs. Judy is on metacam which has made a big difference – she bounces around the field in the morning and is eager to greet any doggie friends that she meets. She is as good as gold taking her medication – if you have a treat in one hand and the syringe in the other she is happy for you to squirt the medicine in her mouth with no trouble at all.
They both like a walk and are inquisitive when they meet other dogs. They are such sweet girls who attract positive comments from everyone they meet as they are so gentle and loving. Everyone who meets them adores them.
Both dogs are housetrained and vaccinated. They have not been neutered and are now too old to be put through the trauma of an operation. They are being fed separately as one of them has been known to steal her pal’s dinner!
They will need an older quieter home perhaps with few or no steps to get in and out as they are both a little stiff. As with most dogs of their age they want an early night and will take themselves off to bed while you are watching tv – but are much livelier in the mornings. They are quiet, placid dogs who are no trouble at all.
Due to the girls age and health issues these two will only be rehomed on long term foster for the rest of their years. All we ask is that they are loved and cherished for whatever time they have left.
Potential fosterers are expected to travel to South Wales, where the girls are being fostered, to meet them.
